The new Birdo and Yoshi’s Island DLC for Mario Kart 8 will be available next week

The next wave of courses — and a new character — for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be available for Nintendo Switch on March 9, according to Nintendo. (By the way, it’s Mario Day Eve.) Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will contain a brand-new course, Yoshi’s Island, as well as a returning character, Birdo.

Nintendo also revealed the remaining courses in Booster Course Pass wave 4, which will contain remastered circuits from Mario Kart titles such as Super Circuit, Double Dash!!, Tour, and others. Here’s the whole list of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass wave 4 DLC, along with Nintendo’s explanations.

Birdo is the first of several new racers coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as Nintendo previously stated. There are no indicators as to who will be next.

The previous round of courses was released in December, bringing legendary Mario Kart layouts such as Maple Treeway from Mario Kart Wii and Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7 to the Switch game. There will be two additional rounds of DLC.

The Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe costs $24.99 and can be bought via the Nintendo eShop. The pass is also included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which costs $49.99 per year for individuals and $79.99 per year for families.
