How can I tell if my Cosori air fryer is about to burn? The list of models is in jeopardy

Over two million Cosori brand air fryers have been recalled after complaints of them catching fire, melting, burning, or overheating.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, about 2 million Cosori brand air fryers have been recalled due to complaints of them catching fire, melting, burning, or overheating.

Thus far, 205 occurrences have been documented throughout the United States and Canada, with 23 cases of property damage and 10 cases of humans sustaining minor burns.

The problem is with the wire connections, which are prone to overheating. Units that have been recalled are model numbers CP158-AF-R19, CP158-AF, CP158-AF-RXW, CP158-AF-RXR, CAF-P581-BUSR, CAF-P581-AUSR, CAF-P581-RUSR, CP137-AF, CP137-AF-RXB, CP137-AF-RXW, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-RXB, CS158-AF-R19, CAF-P581S-BUSR, CP137-AF-RXR, CAF-P581S-RUSR, CAF-P581S-AUSR, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CO158-AF-RXB, CP258-AF.

Between June 2018 and December 2022, these goods were offered for between $70 and $130 at Best Buy, Home Depot stores, and Target, as well as online via Adorama, Bed Bath & Beyond, eBay, HomeGoods, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Cosori, Macy’s, QVC, Staples, Vesync, Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Wellbots, and Woot.

“The health and safety of Cosori users is our first concern; we are taking this measure out of an abundance of caution,” Cosori said in a statement. “All our products are extensively and frequently evaluated for consumer safety and meet or exceed recognized industry standards.”

The impacted units were available in 3.7 and 5.8-quart capacities in black, gray, white, blue, or red. Anybody with one of these recalled air fryers should cease using it immediately. Even if there have been no difficulties with your unit, you should return it by visiting Cosori’s recall website and completing the recall registration form.
